the melodies sound a little uncoordinated though, and it's clipping a tiny bit.

I was kinda underwhelmed at the start but at a minute in, I was getting the feel of it and making sense of it to the story! Very well described tension. also very good ending!

That's the beauty of horror, it's meant to take you by surprise. You'd be surprised at how many people intentionally make an underwhelming song, making people think it's gonna suck before it really kicks in.
